Nobody ever wants to have to deal with their stuff being stolen or broken. After all, everyone really likes their stuff, and wants to protect it as best as they can. However, some people don’t actually do a whole lot to keep their stuff safe from thieves and crooks. Most people feel safe at home, which is a very good thing. Unfortunately, this can lead to people being careless with their valuables.
Many people will often fall into a false sense of security at home. They feel so secure at home, they begin to think that nothing bad will ever happen there. This is not the case. Homes, and vehicles, are broken into all of the time. These kinds of things happen even more frequently at night, once everyone is asleep.
One particular practice of thieves is referred to as “car-hopping.” This practice is where a thief walks down a street, checking every car to see if it is unlocked. If they do find an unlocked vehicle, then they quickly search it for anything valuable. Once they are done, they close the door and move onto the next vehicle.
Luckily, there are precautions that you can take to keep your important and valuable items safe from criminals.
• Lock all of your house doors every night.
• Remove valuable items from your car.
• Turn on exterior lights.
Doing all of this is a part of a practice dubbed the #9PMRoutine. The idea is to make sure that everything of yours is locked up and secure by 9 p.m. to ensure its safety. By doing this, you can deter criminals from taking your stuff, and keep it safe.
